Oracle offers HP’s Hurd a job - Updated

Mon, 6th Sep 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Reuters is reporting that Oracle has offered the former Chief Executive of Hewlett-Packard a job.

Hurd (pictured) is the former Chief Executive of HP who resigned last month after an investigation into a sexual harassment claim found he submitted inaccurate expense reports.

Sources say a final decision has not yet been made and it’s unclear what job Hurd was offered.

Speaking about his reasoning to walk, Hurd said, “As the investigation progressed, I realised there were instances in which I did not live up to the standards and principles of trust, respect and integrity that I have espoused at HP and which have guided me throughout my career.”

It’s said that Hurd has received job offers private equity firms and public companies since his departure from HP.

Update: Oracle has confirmed Hurd's appointment as co-president and director. Full story here.
